How is a Real Estate Transaction Like Dating?
I heard an analogy today that just made me smile.
Inspecting available possibilities = Previewing Homes
Starting to Date = Open Listing
Going Steady = Exclusive Listing
Engagement = Escrow
Marriage = Close of Escrow

Separation = Notice of Default
Divorce = Foreclosure
Can you think of any other ways that a real estate transaction is like dating?

Hey Christine, nice blog. I met you over at Raincamp and when I get some things tamed down, will check in with you. Hope your business is booming. As for dating, what happens if I put 2-3 offers out for buyers or if I receive multiple offers on a list... am I a polygamist? :)
funny post! here's another one since you concluded with "divorce":
Dating again - Back on the market!
Makes sense and the aftermath financially can be as devasting to the human spirit as divorice. These are tough times on peoples emotions.

Unaccepted Offer = One-night stand.
I'm afraid to ask what you think of the slinky investment property?

So true and very funny! I had never thought about real estate being so closely related to dating.
Stefan - I'll look forward to hearing from you and am glad that you're busy.
As to multiple offers, I think you're fine as long as you only accept one ; )
Chris and Maria - I love it!
Ted - It really can which is part of why I try so hard to find ways to help my clients avoid foreclosure/divorce.
Jane - Good one!
Todd - Blind date that your friend said "has possibilities"?
Coleen - I thougt this was fun.
Funny! Thanks for sharing.
Christine you are right on the money with how these terms match up so well:)
Debbie - I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Bill - It really worked out well.
