I have been fortunate to live around the Pacific Ocean nearly my entire life and never tire of the beauty that is available at any time here.  This day, I was fortunate to capture a picture of two pelicans who apparently share my appreciation of the ocean.

I haven't been to Catalina in years.  I don't remember any pelicans, but remember a school of golden orange fish, that dwelled in the waters near the pier where the helicoptor took off.  Nice picture.

Myrl - The fish you saw were probably garibaldi.  They are right up near the shore.

Paul - What a great place to get married!

I think they are more waiting for the tasty treats that come out of the ocean. Hmmm, weird, me to, maybe I'll have clam chowder for lunch in honor of those pelicans.

Hi Christine, I suspect not only the Pelicans  love it but lots of creatures ( humans among them) love the oceanside. Life changes quickly there with the tides and while it is continually changing, it always seems to stay the same.
