Newport Heights encompasses the area between 15th Street and Pacific Coast Highway and from just West of Superior Avenue all the way to Dover Drive. It is located conveniently near John Wayne Airport, severa freeways including the 405, the 73 and the 55.
It encompasses the area around Newport Harbor High School and that around Hoag Hospital. Many of the homes are fortunate to have lovely views of the ocean, the bay and Catalina Island.
Newport Heights is in the Newport Mesa Unified School District and feeds to different elementary schools including Newport Elementary and Newport Heights Elementary. The junion high is Horace Ensign Middle School, and the high school is Newport Harbor High School. Newport Heights is located near a variety of environmental, recreational, cultural and shopping opportunities.
The Back Bay is a nature preserve; Catalina Island is just a short catamaran ride away on the Catalina Flyer; the Balboa Fun Zone features a ferris wheel and other amusements as well as shopping and restaurants. Shopping at nearby Fashion Island is an experience in itself, and nearby Costa Mesa includes a world renowned theatre and music complex.
