This weekend is the 62nd annual Costa Mesa Newport Harbor Lions' Club Fish Fry.
The carnival rides open at 11 am on Saturday May 30 and Sunday May 31.
It is held at Costa Mesa Lions' Park, also known as the Airplane Park for the large cement airplane in the middle of the playground, as it has been for most of the four decades I've been attending.
This is a great event! Not only does it raise money for local schools, clubs and other organizations in the community, but it is just plain fun. My oldest son can't wait to go tomorrow. He thinks it's a great time for all.
As always, there will be a baby contest, rides, games, and of course, the Fish Fry.
So, if you're looking for an enjoyable way to spend a few hours this weekend give money to a good cause at the same time, be sure to stop by and play awhile.
