Costa Mesa and Newport Beach Christmas Tree Disposal (Recyling)

It's that time of year, Christmas is over.  The New Year has started, or has it?  For many, there is still the dreaded task of taking down the Christmas tree.  It is so much fun to choose the perfect tree, to ooh and ahh as you pull the old ornaments out of storage and watch the kids exclaim with excitement, but that's over.

You've taken off the ornaments and removed the lights.

Now, the question is what do I do with this old tree?

Costa Mesa Christmas Tree

According to an article in the Daily Pilot. CR&R Waste, which is the trash company for much of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, says that larger trees should be cut to a size of 6 feet or less and left with the trash on the normal collection day before January 10th.

Per to the Costa Mesa Sanitary District, these Christmas trees will be collected from residents at curbside and then will then be recycled into mulch.

So, now that the season is over, make sure you get those trees out before they become a fire hazard.
