Today, the North won again at the Battle of Costa Mesa in Fairview Park. There was a Civil War Re-enactment, complete with cannons.
My son was concerned about the people dying until he saw some of them turn their heads with their eyes partially opened.
Being from California, I'd never seen a re-enactment. I think I've seen too many movies with more recent wars because I expected the battle to be fast paced and quick moving, which it wasn't. They had to take time to reload their weapons and their cannons. It was very organized and very interesting.
If you're nearby and want to see the battle or Suttlers row with lots of interesting things to see and purchase, there will be two more battles tomorrow at 11am and 2pm.
