Often, I have clients tell me that they only want a single family home or they would prefer a single family home but will take a condo if they have to do so.
Most people understand the preference for a single family home - no one shares walls, bigger yard, more room to expand a home, make any changes you want (if city codes permit), etc.
So why would any one prefer to buy a condo if they had an option?
Actually, there are many reasons and some people who really do prefer a condo.
I have a client right now who only wants a condo because there won't be any external upkeep, she won't have to deal with any roof problems, she doesn't have to handle the landscaping, and there are association amenities. These are just a few reasons why someone might prefer a condo to a traditional single family home.
If you are interested in reading more about condos, Will Nesbitt recently informed me of a website that details the benefits of condos and also explains what they are, the different types and about condo ownership.
