How lucky are we to be able to get on our bikes and ride to the beach on Thanksgiving Day.

Though it might have been a little colder than usual, it was still a wonderful day, followed by a wonderful Turkey dinner.

An Early Thanksgiving for Our Vet - on His Way Back to Afghanistan

 

This past week, we have been fortunate to have my brother-in-law back for a brief visit before he returns to Afghanistan.

Early Thanksgiving

 

 

 

 

We decide that since it's November, we should celebrate   Thanksgiving before he left us again.  So, we did the full Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy and of course pumpkin pie.

 

 

 

 

 

 

It was great to have so much of the family together. We will do this all again in a few weeks for the "real" Thanksgiving, but this Friday, we had so much for which to be thankful with his safe return and the opportunity for he and my sister to have a brief vacation on Catalina Island.

We all look forward to his safe return again in August of next year when we hope to keep him permanently.

For What Am I Thankful this Year?

For What Am I Thankful this Year?

 

I feel so blessed for all that I have this year.

  1. First and foremost, I have my family - my two boys, my husband, my siblings, my parents, nieces, nephews.  I really am so very fortunate in this area.
  2. My friends - I am blessed by some truly amazing friends, some of whom have been in my life for decades and some of have been around for far less.  To all of you, thank you for what you do for me.
  3. My growing business.  The first year after the bubble popped, was very difficult for me, as it was for many, and I have grown so much since then and am successfully growing my business.
  4. Active Rain and all of the wonderful people I have met here who have helped me to grow my business and who have become amazing friends and inspiration to me - Thank you to all of you.
  5. I'm grateful for my clients, especially those who become good friends.
  6. My knowledge and ability that allows me to help my clients, particularly those in difficult situations.
  7. My new adorable puppy.

There are many more things, but these are the ones at the top of mind.

So Much for Which to be Thankful

So Much for which to be Thankful

 

This weekend we celebrated Thanksgiving, which in addition to being an excuse to gorge on amazing food and stand in line for hours for Black Friday deals, is a time to consider our blessings in life.

Mine are many.

Dawn's Wedding

I was fortunate enough this last week to see my sister-in-law wonderfully in love and getting married to a terrific man.

I saw both of my sisters and one of my little sister's twins.

My lil

 

I saw my niece who currently resides on the other side of the country.

I got time with my family.

I had time to relax and just enjoy.

In addition, I have been blessed this year to assist several people buy a new home and perhaps even more blessed to help distressed home owners and make their lives a little easier.

I have two wonderful children and a husband.

I have great friends with whom I have created many amazing memories.

All in all, I am blessed and am thankful for the time to have with all of those I love.

I hope you too have the time to contemplate all that you truly have.
