Costa Mesa's Neighborhood Blog: May 2008

A blog about Newport and Costa Mesa with an emphasis on Costa Mesa Real Estate and Newport Beach Real Estate, written by a lifetime local resident of coastal Orange County whose knowledge of the area, combined with a strong background in mortgages, real estate and being an attorney, gives her clients many advantages.

Technology Frustration - Love and Hate in the Blogging World

So, I decided that as long as I was going to start blogging on Active Rain, I'd also do a blog on my local community. Since I've lived here my entire life and have lots of pictures and information on Newport Beach and Costa Mesa, I decided to do a post about Famous Landmarks and Traditions in the Newport Mesa area.  That went really well until I tried to upload pictures.  I had uploaded pictures here Pier at Sunset  Bell Tower - Newport Harbor High

on Active Rain and found it easy and simple to do.  Word Press had the same little tree icon, so I figured it couldn't be much different.  Alas, I was wrong.  I tried to upload several times, but, even after reading the FAQ's and some posts, all I wound up with were boxes with little red X's.

I think on Active Rain I may have been a little spoiled by the quick response to my technical questions.  Hopefully I'll get the same type of help from Word Press.

Post script - Having been so pleased with myself and my abilities on Active Rain, I managed to delete the entire post before saving it by changing my pop up controls to allow pop ups from Active Rain.  I guess it's a case of live and learn.  You would think that by now I would have learned to save documents (blog posts) as I go along . . .
